The costs of delivery are based upon size and weight of order. We do not seek to make profit from delivery fees. Costs can appear expensive since we are a bespoke stationery maker we do not despatch in bulk and so do not have those discounts available to us.
We despatch by different Royal Mail services. Smaller orders under 2kg we recommend using special delivery. Over 2kg this service becomes very expensive and we would normally then recommend 1st class recorded delivery. This is also the only service which will deliver on a Saturday without incurring extra cost. Proofs are sent 1st class and are not charged for sending. Small supplemental orders are normally despatched 1st class like the samples.
There are three couriers we are able to use. Citylink is the most affordable. Parcelforce is midrange and while interlink is the most costly. Interlink though will text you on the morning of delivery with an approximate time for when your order will be delivered. All of these charge extra for a Saturday delivery. Large table plans are only able to be delivered by a courier since the parcel sizes exceed those that Royal Mail are able to deliver.
Delivery prices are normally the cost of the delivery service plus £2-£3 to cover packaging materials costs. Typically Royal Mail deliveries are in the £12 range while couriers can be almost £30 for Interlink or £10 for Citylink.
Please note the following:
- Once despatched by the agreed method we have no further control over the delivery and it is the responsibility of the delivery company to deliver the order. On rare occasions items may be delivered late. We advise you to allow for this unlikely possibility.
- In even rarer occasions a delivery may go missing. Orders are insured and will be rebuilt as quickly as possible but this is handmade stationery and cannot be replaced instantly. Therefore we advise orders to be placed in good time and to make sure that in normal circumstances we have two weeks to make the order before it is needed.
- Cheaper couriers generally carry a slightly greater risk of mishap than more expensive ones.
